"One of the things I love about yoga is that everyone is drawn to it for a different reason. Some find it in a quest for strength or flexibility or a new exercise routine. Others as an option for reducing stress or anxiety, or for addressing chronic pain. It offers all that and more, and I believe it to be, like yoga postures, a very personal and ever-evolving journey - not a destination - taken over many many years. For me, yoga has a been a route to feeling my physical best, but also a path to becoming more compassionate to myself and others, and to being more present and connected in daily life. It has provided me with immeasurable benefits and joy and I look forward to sharing what I have learned with you." - Alison, owner, Asilomar Yoga
About Alison Bogan, Owner & LYTTM Instructor
I have been practicing yoga for more than 20 years, through three pregnancies and postpartum. I have had the opportunity to take classes in a variety of styles including Hatha, Anusara, Ashtanga, Bikram, Vinyasa, Power, Yin, Iyengar, Restorative, and more. Each style has something to offer; however, I believe the LYTTM Method offers a smart, sustainable and modern movement practice matched by no other.
I completed my first 200hr yoga teacher training in 2015 in Vancouver, BC, with Leo Cheung and Shelley Tomczyk. In 2020 I graduated from my second 200hr yoga teacher training and completed my Level 1 LYTTM Yoga Method certification with Lara Heimann, creator of LYTTM Yoga. I completed my LYTTM Level 2 certification in 2021, further honing my anatomy, movement and yoga knowledge-base to benefit all those I have the pleasure of working with. This means I have well over 700 hours of yoga teacher training to compliment my two decades of personal practice.
My mission is to help every person to move and feel their best in their beautiful body. This means being strong and mobile and adaptable, able to age gracefully while taking on all of life's fun offerings and active pursuits with no limits.
Outside of my yoga practice, I enjoy biking, running, skiing, body boarding and relaxing at the beach with my family, and of course hiking and exploring the beautiful state and national parks all around us.
About LYT Yoga
Founded by international yoga pioneer and Physical therapist Lara Heimann, LYTTM (Lara’s Yoga Technique) is a sophisticated method of practice that is based on the three principles of Physiology, Kinesiology and Neurology. With a core understanding of movement from a cellular level while highlighting the mechanics of how movement happens, LYTTM is an intense movement experience that systematically overrides the patterns of compensation and poor habits through an exploration of brain mapping and purposeful movement. LYTTM classes emphasize intelligent sequencing, smart cueing and alignment.
